The Stations of the Cross are a devotional practice that reflects on fourteen events during Jesus’ final journey to his crucifixion and burial. Each station marks a moment, such as Jesus falling under the weight of the cross, meeting his mother Mary on the way to Calvary, his death on the cross, and finally his being laid in the tomb. Prayed especially during Lent and on Good Friday, the Stations help believers meditate on Christ’s suffering, sacrifice, and love, deepening their faith and connecting them emotionally and spiritually to his Passion.
The Stations of the Cross in this Church were a present from Miss Middleton of London. Painted on zinc in Munich with dark oak frames. They were installed here on 18th April 1886.
