Funerals

"I am the resurrection and the life; he who believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and whoever lives and believes in me shall never die."

Jesus Christ, John 11:25-26

Death is one of the hardiest realities for us to face as human beings, but Christian hope is rooted in the truth that the love of God has proved stronger than Death itself.  When Jesus died on the Cross, He died for us all, and when He rose again from the dead, He offered us life that will last even after death.

Therefore, we are still united to all those who have died through the love of Jesus Christ, and one day we will all rise again from the dead and live forever free from sin, pain, and death.  Becuase of this we pray for those who have died.  This is a great act of love which expresses our union with them and helps them as the journey to God who loves them.
