Many find that they are drawn by an inner compulsion to explore the Catholic faith. For some this is an emotional sense that the Catholic Church is where they belong and where they will find peace, for others it may be the result of a realisation that the Catholic faith today forms one unbroken continuity with the faith of the church down the ages, for others again it may be the universal nature of the Church which draws them

All these reasons are good and come from God. Those who experience the compulsion to find out more about the Catholic faith are not coming to find God, God has already found them and is drawing them to himself.

The journey into the Catholic faith is a completion of the pilgrimage of faith they are already on.

The Catholic church today responds in the same way she has done for nearly twenty centuries, she provides a Way of enabling people to "come and see", to ask and explore. This Way is today called the rite of Christian initiation of adults, or RCIA for short.

Below is an explanation of RCIA. At Sacred Heart the journey each year begins at the start of October. If you would like to be notified of the arrangements for October 2026, please fill in the form below and we will get in touch nearer the time.

In the meantime you are welcome to come and experience the Catholic mass on a Sunday or a weekday.
